What actually happens
to your paint.

Most of the cost of a ceramic coating is not the bottle. It is the days of preparation that happen before it, because a coating permanently locks in whatever it is laid over. Here is the whole process, stage by stage.

Ceramic coating

Four stages, one finish

A coating is only as good as what goes under it. Three of these four stages happen before the bottle is even opened.

The surface has to be genuinely clean first

Pressure wash to lift loose dirt, hand wash, rinse, then clay to pull bonded contamination out of the paint. A coating bonds to whatever it is laid on. Sealing fallout, rail dust or overspray under it locks that damage in for the life of the coating.

The mistake that costs
two grand.

A coating bonds to whatever is already in the paint. Laid over rail dust, overspray or industrial fallout, it seals all of it in for the life of the coating — and a Magnum seven-year is a long time to live with someone else's shortcut. Mo walks through it on a brand new EV.

Coating a new car

And what a coating is not

A coating is not armour. It will not stop a stone chip, a trolley or a key, and it does not make a car self-cleaning. What it does is make a good finish easier to keep and slower to degrade — which over years of ownership is worth real money. Anyone telling you otherwise is selling something.
